Contract to Hire Welder - Kalamazoo, MI 1st Shift Pay - 20.00+/Hour, Based On Experience Job Duties Interpret Blueprints: Study and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine the appropriate welding techniques and procedures. Prepare Materials: Select and prepare materials for welding, including cleaning, cutting, and shaping metal components. Operate Welding Equipment: Set up and operate welding equipment, such as arc welders, gas welders, and plasma cutters, in compliance with safety standards and welding procedures. Perform Welding Techniques: Perform various welding techniques, including arc welding, MIG welding, TIG welding, and oxy-acetylene welding, to join metal components with precision and accuracy. Inspect Welds: Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards, including checking for defects and performing necessary repairs or adjustments. Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance and safety. Follow Safety Procedures: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries, including wearing appropriate protective gear and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Collaborate with Team Members: Work collaboratively with other team members, such as fabricators, engineers, and supervisors, to plan and execute welding projects efficiently. Document Work: Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including materials used, time spent on projects, and any relevant observations or issues encountered. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in welding technology, and best practices to enhance skills and improve welding techniques.
