FAST Global Solutions is seeking a Fabricator I or II on Day Shift for our Glenwood, MN location. Job summary: The fabricator performs a variety of functions using machinery to fabricate metal parts. Equipment used may include hand tools, measuring equipment, drill press, saws, iron workers, hand grinder, cutting torch, overhead hoist, forklift, steel sawhorse, carts, bridge crane, and hand truck.

Requirements

  • A qualified candidate will have a high school diploma, GED, or at least 1-3 months related experience.
  • Must have basic language and math skills and reasoning ability.
  • Should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software.
  • Must be able to stand and walk continuously and reach/bend frequently over the course of a 10-hour shift.
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have manual dexterity and be able to maintain a frequent firm grasp.
  • Must be able to operate a foot pedal for machine operation.
  • Must be able to pass a physical strength test to perform the job.
  • Vision with depth perception is required.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and levels of humidity.
  • Personal protective equipment will be provided by FAST and must be worn in the

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific fabrication requirements.
  • Operates shear, saws, iron workers, brake press and drill presses, to fabricate components to print.
  • Removes burrs and sharp edges from parts.
  • Moves and positions materials and finished product.
  • Performs Autonomous Maintenance as outlined for machinery.
  • Verifies dimensions of workpiece, per First Article Inspection procedure.
