  • Perform routine fabrication and assembly operations on metal and non-metallic parts.
  • Follow prescribed procedures, drawings, and operation sheets to assemble components.
  • Fabricate small detail parts and perform routine layout work as necessary.
  • Use hand and power tools to drill, grind, trim, saw, shear, and punch parts as required.
  • Secure parts to jigs or fixtures using clecos, screws, bolts, and clamps.
  • Perform minor bending or straightening operations as needed.
  • Direct and instruct one or two helpers in accordance with work assignments.
  • Refer questionable conditions to higher-grade worker supervision.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic involving decimals and fractions for reading drawings.
  • Experience using measuring instruments such as scales, micrometers, and squares.
  • Ability to use various hand and power tools and machines in the area.
  • 3 to 6 months of relevant experience or equivalent SIK experience.
  • Previous experience in Sheet Metal Assembly preferred.
