THE ROLE: The Steel Fabrication Utility Operator will be required to set up and operate the following equipment: Flame Cutter, Shear, Seam Welder, Flash Welder, Plate Rolls, Flange/Angle Rolls, Rim Rolls, Tack Welder, Plasma Burner, 200 Ton Press, 400 Ton Press, All Expanders, All Punch Presses, Etc. Requirements

Must have the ability to use, read and interpret tape measures, Pi tapes, squares, protractors, calipers, special pipe & layout instruments, and other measurement tools.
Must be able to read and interpret shop orders and blueprints.
Must be capable of using computer to clock/transfer shop orders.
Must have the ability to train lesser qualified employees as required.
Must maintain proper care of equipment and a neat and orderly work area.
Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed.
Must maintain quality and quantity standards,.
Be able to follow detailed work orders, modify same through supervision or lead-person as required.

Responsibilities

Must be able to set up and operate, without assistance, a variety of fabrication machines to produce quality parts to print specifications.
Must be positive team contributor who works well with all team members.
Participate in training activities, both on and off site
Document and maintain required records.
Work safely by following all safety policies, procedures and actively participate in all site safety programs.
Perform all other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
