THE ROLE: The Steel Fabrication Utility Operator will be required to set up and operate the following equipment: Flame Cutter, Shear, Seam Welder, Flash Welder, Plate Rolls, Flange/Angle Rolls, Rim Rolls, Tack Welder, Plasma Burner, 200 Ton Press, 400 Ton Press, All Expanders, All Punch Presses, Etc. Requirements

  • Must have the ability to use, read and interpret tape measures, Pi tapes, squares, protractors, calipers, special pipe & layout instruments, and other measurement tools.
  • Must be able to read and interpret shop orders and blueprints.
  • Must be capable of using computer to clock/transfer shop orders.
  • Must have the ability to train lesser qualified employees as required.
  • Must maintain proper care of equipment and a neat and orderly work area.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed.
  • Must maintain quality and quantity standards,.
  • Be able to follow detailed work orders, modify same through supervision or lead-person as required.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to set up and operate, without assistance, a variety of fabrication machines to produce quality parts to print specifications.
  • Must be positive team contributor who works well with all team members.
  • Participate in training activities, both on and off site
  • Document and maintain required records.
  • Work safely by following all safety policies, procedures and actively participate in all site safety programs.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
