The fabricator operates fabricating machines such as welders, plasma cutters, cutoff saws, drill presses, forming machines, and punches that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures by performing the following duties. Assist in the fabrication of hydraulic power units. Operate various shop equipment (drill press, band saw, MIG Welder, grinders, hand tools, etc.) Perform general assembly and kitting of fluid power systems and components. Bend hydraulic tubing and make hydraulic hoses per spec. Read and interpret fluid power and electrical schematics. Operate hydraulic test stand and other test equipment for quality control. Paint, pack, and ship hydraulic components and complete any necessary paperwork. Properly handle all waste materials. Perform other assignments at the direction of departmental supervision. Obey all safety rules and perform housekeeping functions as required Participate in continuous improvement through training and associate development. Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces. Operates any equipment needed to perform the job.
