About The Position

M&K Truck Centers is expanding, and we're on the lookout for skilled Fabrication Technicians to become a vital part of our growing team. This individual will be primarily responsible for installing various truck equipment components, such as dump truck bodies, snowplows, hydraulic pumps, tarp systems, and more. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with automotive/diesel fabrication work, as well as experience in routing air and hydraulic lines for truck equipment components.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of hands-on experience in automotive/diesel fabrication work is preferred
• Experience with MIG welding, oxyacetylene welding, and cutting equipment
• Familiarity with metal cutting and bending equipment such as shears, brake presses, and drill presses
• Proficient in MIG welding (Gas Metal Arc Welding) is required
• Strong mechanical aptitude, self-motivation, and reliability
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Wet Kits, PTOs (Power Take-Offs), and the installation of hydraulic systems is preferred but not required
• Experience building dump trucks, including hooking up air and hydraulic lines for proper operation is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Reference blueprints and collaborate with the Lead person to determine job requirements
• Gather necessary materials and perform layout according to specifications
• Set up welding machines and adjust settings as needed
• Position, clamp, and/or tack weld components before starting the welding process
• Visually inspect welds for quality assurance and adherence to standards
• Notify the Lead person or Inspector when the product is ready for inspection
• Participate in product development, build prototypes, and conduct product tests
• Assemble components and verify specifications for proper installation
• Fabricate and weld components as required by internal or customer drawings and specifications
• Follow all fabrication procedures to meet project requirements
