About The Position

Summary of duties – Fabrication Technician I possess a basic understanding of Fabrication processes to include, but not limited to, the safe use of common hand tools, basic understanding of measuring devices, and can read blueprints. Tasks are accomplished as assigned by the Fabrication Shop Supervisor or under the supervision of a senior Fabrication team member and in accordance with company work instructions. Fabrication Technician II is experienced in Fabrication processes to include, but not limited to, the safe use of common hand tools, understanding of measuring devices, and can read/interpret blueprints. At times, tasks assigned by the Fabrication Shop Supervisor with little or no direct supervision of a Fabrication team member and in accordance with company work instructions. Periodically required to lift/move equipment up to and including 50 pounds. Additional duties and/or responsibilities of other positions may also be assigned for which qualifications are met.

Requirements

• Level I: HS diploma or GED may be required depending on varying contract stipulations. Associates degree or trade school certificate preferred, but not required (in related field), or 12 months related experience.
• Level II: HS diploma or GED may be required depending on varying contract stipulations. Associates degree or trade school certificate preferred, but not required (in related field) Must have 2+ years of related experience. Must have 2+ years of fabrication shop experience.
• Level I - Must be familiar with/ Level II – must have working knowledge with basic fabrication equipment to include but not limited to: Vertical Saw Horizontal Saw Iron Worker Manual Press Brake Hydraulic Press Brake Blasting Cabinet Forklift Pneumatic and Electric hand tools Drill press
• Clearance up to secret level may be required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Fire watch certification
• Physical requirements include the following: Lifting/moving up to and including 50 pounds Standing for long periods of time
• In performing these duties, you may be required to work outdoors. You will experience temperature variations, extremely loud noises, and other physical hazards.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for transporting material/tools within Fabrication Shop
• standing fire watch
• painting
• blasting
• safe operation of machines for cutting, bending, rolling, shaping
• assisting in metal preparation/fit up for welding
• Perform any other assignments or tasks as needed or requested by management to assist in accomplishing the organization’s mission, objectives and goals.
