About The Position
The Fabrication Support Specialist at Avantor plays a crucial role in supporting the Lab and Production Services team, which consists of over 1,500 expert personnel dedicated to providing customized lab work and research protocols. This position is based in Hillsboro, OR, and reports directly to the Supervisor of Onsite Services. The primary focus of this role is to ensure seamless operations in the lab environment, which includes handling customer materials, managing inventory, and providing exceptional customer service. The specialist will be responsible for coordinating shipping activities, including hazardous materials, and maintaining safety inspections on equipment. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards. In addition to shipping and inventory management, the Fabrication Support Specialist will interface directly with customers, including purchasing directors and facility managers, to ensure their needs are met. The role involves performing purchasing functions, providing SAP support, and maintaining accurate records of inventory and shipping documentation. The specialist will also be responsible for training new team members and creating programs to enhance service efficiencies. This position is integral to Avantor's mission of returning time back to science by providing flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support to customers in various industries, including biopharma and high-tech sectors.
