The Fabrication Shop Project Manager will oversee the management of projects from inception to completion within a fabrication environment, specifically focusing on steel structures. This role requires a highly motivated individual who can ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while adhering to industry regulations and safety protocols.

  • Lead and manage multiple projects within the fabrication shop, ensuring adherence to specifications and industry standards (AWS D1.5, AISC ABR, IBR, BU, HYDA, and FCE).
  • Oversee all aspects of project planning, including scheduling, detailing, material procurement, and budgeting.
  • Ensure project compliance with all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Track project progress and make necessary adjustments to schedules and budgets.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Operations to manage and monitor shop resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Liaise with customers to understand project requirements, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous improvement processes.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, preferably in steel structures.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS D1.5 standards and operations conforming to AISC accreditations.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., PowerFab, Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in a fabrication shop environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or (7+) years' experience in Steel Fabrication preferred.
