Job Summary: Reporting to the superintendent or foreman, the helper performs a variety of unskilled manual labor tasks such as moving, lifting, carrying, cleaning, painting, and using, supplying, or holding materials or tools, and cleaning work areas and equipment. Duties & Responsibilities: Follow specific directions from project supervision. Assist with the layout, fabrication, assembly, installation, maintenance, repairs of industrial piping systems. Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards; restocks supplies and materials. Assists craft workers by performing any combination of the following tasks: Lifting, positioning, and removing work pieces from machinery and assemblies. Assisting in fitting and welding, fabrication, assembly, alteration, and repair of products and equipment. Repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure. Help set up tools and equipment. Assist with gathering, loading, transport and unload materials, tools, equipment and supplies required for performance of work. Assist moving parts into position manually or by hoist, cranes, jigs, fixtures, clamps, and jacks. Furnishes experienced craft worker with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies. Assist in minor maintenance and cleaning activities of tools, equipment, and facility for a safe work area. Maintains good housekeeping and a safe work area. Performs other routine duties as directed by experienced crafts person.
