About The Position

The Fabrication Process Engineer III plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and efficiency of manufacturing processes. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining standard work procedures, driving process improvements, and supporting flawless implementation of new launches. By leading multidisciplinary teams and leveraging engineering principles, the Fabrication Process Engineer III directly impacts operational metrics and delivery schedules, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. What you'll do Guide projects, tasks, and design direction by identifying areas of opportunity through engineering principles. Demonstrate independent judgment to adapt methods for non-routine aspects of assignments. Coordinate multiple small to medium-sized projects concurrently, assigning tasks and ensuring timely completion. Perform safety process walks and implement effective countermeasures to identified risks, ensuring zero accidents due to process issues. Define and document direct labor requirements and cycle times for each process on a monthly basis. Lead multidisciplinary teams to achieve process target efficiencies and maintain standard work procedures. Support Level 1 (LV1) process performance and document results, including headcount, cycle times, rates, efficiencies, scrap %, and rework %. Ensure flawless implementation of processes for new launches, passing LV1 with no major issues. Develop and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEAs) for each process, leading reviews to prevent poor quality costs. Conduct weekly process/Gemba walks to ensure compliance with standard work, identify opportunities, and implement countermeasures. Validate and approve packaging design, specifications, and appearance for new packaging or equipment/tooling. Lead and track Engineering Change Notice (ECN) implementation on time and within budget. Participate in defining optimal layouts and process flows for new equipment, tooling, or processes. Support the development and implementation of best practice projects, LV2 events, special projects, and automation initiatives. Remove roadblocks preventing processes from achieving operational metrics. Communicate potential risks or major issues to the Engineering Site Lead. All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in process engineering (5 years preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a leadership role in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels.
  • Proficient planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Results-oriented with high attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel (20%+)

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in project management (desirable).
