About The Position

Performs a variety of basic operations in the fabrication department relating to turret and brake press operations, finishing, pem nut machine operations, and/or other related areas.

Requirements

  • At least a High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • At least three months general experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Responsibilities

  • Loads material and operates turret press.
  • Operates press brake performing basic forming operations.
  • Performs finishing operations such as grinding, buffing, or polishing as required.
  • Checks parts per associated Control Plan and records results on History Sheets and/or other appropriate forms.
  • Has initial responsibility to shut press down when problems with parts are suspected, with follow-up notification to the Set-up Operator and/or Supervisor.
  • Packages parts per packaging instructions listed on Manufacturing Order (M.O.) and/or other appropriate forms.
  • Conforms with Wolverine Metal Stamping manufacturing work instructions and/or other appropriate directions.
  • Conforms with Wolverine Metal Stamping safety policies which includes lock-out policy.
  • Conforms with Wolverine Metal Stamping housekeeping policies which includes work area, equipment and tooling.
  • Informs supervisor and/or other appropriate team members regarding applicable information.
  • Works with other team members to reduce manufacturing related costs by increasing productivity and reducing waste (rework and scrap) costs.
  • Participates in Corrective Action and/or Continuous Improvement teams
