About The Position

Deliver best in class thinking and service to the oil and gas, marine, and energy markets through listening, applying intelligence and responding. Every time. The Buildings Department is responsible for the high-quality manufacturing of Point Eight Power’s structural & building products. The overall objective of this position is to provide single-point accountability for all fabrication, assembly, insulation, painting, and final release of power distribution buildings. Deliver 25 % reduction in direct labor hours per unit within 18 months while maintaining TRIR = 0.00 and zero major ISO 9001 findings.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive leadership in heavy fabrication (PDCs, switchgear enclosures, offshore modules, pressure vessels, or similar), Required.
  • Demonstrated success achieving 20% labor-hour reduction in operations generating $10M+ annual revenue, Required.
  • Hands-on experience with automation technologies (nested programming, robotic welding, or automated finishing), Required.
  • Proven ability to lead safety performance improvements (e.g., reducing TRIR from 3.0 to 1.0), Required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (Black Belt program available through company sponsorship)
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • OSHA 30-Hour or higher certification
  • CAPM or PMP
  • Advanced proficiency in production scheduling tools (PlanetTogether, Siemens Opcenter, Katana, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee $18M in annual direct labor spend; forecast, track, and deliver monthly labor efficiency targets.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a 27-person team across welding, fabrication, insulation, and paint operations.
  • Build and execute production schedules, capacity plans, and material requirements using modern APS/MES tools.
  • Identify, justify, and implement automation and capital improvement projects (e.g., robotic cutting, automated systems).
  • Champion safety — enforce HSE standards, lead incident investigations, and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Ensure ISO 9001 compliance through internal audits, corrective actions, and management reviews.
  • Use data-driven insights to implement Lean and Six Sigma improvements that reduce waste and cycle times.
