About The Position

The position is responsible for overseeing the work performance of assigned personnel, ensuring safety, and utilizing resources effectively, including time, money, people, and property. The role involves providing leadership, assisting in hiring, training, and evaluating employees, and maintaining production and quality goals. The individual will also ensure a clean and safe work environment, manage company property, and complete necessary reports and forms related to quality assurance and safety policies.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in all department work centers is preferred
  • Ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced work environment
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to interpret work orders, drawings, layouts, sketches, and production schedules
  • Professional oral and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge in shop math and ability to measure accurately
  • Proficient knowledge of various power and machine tools
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform 6S checks and report incomplete items
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the company's mission, values, and ethics

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Forklift certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide positive, fair, and decisive leadership to employees
  • Assist in testing and hiring new employees
  • Direct, instruct, train, schedule, and evaluate all assigned employees
  • Evaluate workload and collaborate with the production manager to meet production and quality goals
  • Establish and maintain fair and reasonable goal hours
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly work area
  • Safeguard company property and equipment
  • Complete required accident reports for assigned employees
  • Report unsafe or disrepair conditions to the production manager and maintenance department
  • Accurately fill out quality assurance/checkout forms as needed
  • Organize and distribute work to maintain a constant flow
  • Participate in product improvement committees as needed
  • Set up, adjust, and operate various equipment proficiently
  • Identify stock and operate machines to minimize scrap
  • Perform basic maintenance on machines and tooling
  • Adhere to the company's quality policy and ensure compliance among personnel
  • Interpret safety policies and practices to employees
