About The Position

Aerothreads is a fast-growing company in the Aerospace industry that specializes in the design, fabrication, and installation of Multi-Layer Insulation (MLI) blankets. We are looking for summer interns who are excited about the aerospace and/or manufacturing industry that are motivated to work hard and learn over a 12 week program in Riverdale, MD. The Fabrication Intern will support the fabrication team in the creation of MLI blankets in our state of the art clean room.

Requirements

• High school diploma and at least two years progress towards a degree (rising Junior) in Fine Arts, Fashion, Costume Design, Product Design, or a related field.
• Willingness to work in a clean room facility wearing PPE each day.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment for creating high quality products.
• Sewing and/or pattern making skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work as part of a highly collaborative team.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Create material sample boxes for marketing purposes.
• Assist with bulk blanket layups.
• Support labeling and bagging products.
• Inventory support.
• Simple fabrication of sample blankets.
