About The Position

Operate manual prefab/fabrication equipment. This is not a supervisory position. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Operate all prefab equipment; including but not limited to: drills (various types), plate rolls, grinders, saws, press brake, etc. Misc. mig welding (tacking only) as needed - must pass ASME Mig weld test. Training: includes being both the trainer & trainee. Unloading trucks alone and with others; both by hand and/or with multiple styles/sizes of forklifts and overhead cranes. Unloading will be from (but not limited) flat beds, box vans, and parcel trucks. Inspect items for damage, correct sizes, shapes, and dimensions. Document (paper & electronic) that items are either correct or if incorrect, contact the proper suppliers and rectify the problem. Label and move items to proper locations (job areas, inventory, hold areas, etc.). Perform daily, weekly, monthly, & annual maintenance on equipment. Troubleshoot equipment to keep running. Use best judgement / practices of handling and storage of items. Must be able to read, write, speak and communicate effectively in English. Maintain regular attendance and timeliness on a consistent basis; reliable transportation is a must. Conduct business and interactions with a positive attitude that projects the highest level of professionalism. The above duties are not meant to restrict initiative, but rather to define minimum activities. The duties may be altered to suit the needs of the company as well as other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read & write to a level of understanding and process paperwork as required for this position.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, work orders, & requisitions to properly check items.
  • Ability to understand basic math formulas related to the assigned tasks.
  • Ability to measure components using a variety of measuring devices; mainly tape measure up to 25'.
  • Must provide own tools.

It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
