About The Position

The Gill Corporation is one of the world's largest manufacturers of honeycomb, high performance floor panels, cargo compartment liners and original equipment for passenger and freighter aircraft. The company also excels in many other types of reinforced plastics including interior sandwich panels for creating structures such as aircraft galleys and bulkheads, honeycomb core and related products. The Gill Corporation is seeking a Fabrication Assembler with experience in production assembly, high attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency. Key qualities to be successful in this role are to be a team player, willingness for hands-on learning. This position assists the department supervisor in various day-to-day work activities within the fabrication department and will complete rework activities per the direction of the Operations Engineering. Reporting to the Production Supervisor they will perform but not be limited to the following responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 1 - 3 years of assembly or manufacturing experience
  • Must be able to read and know how to use blueprints and work orders.
  • Must have basic computer skills and knowledge.
  • Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalency
  • Must have English reading and verbal communication skills sufficient to read, understand and communicate the company operating procedures and policies.
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to demonstrate math proficiency equal to or greater than required for the position applied.
  • Must be available to work the shift specified by the position and be flexible to potential overtime on weekends/ holidays.
  • This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). In order to comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants will be asked to provide specific documentation to verify U.S. person status under the ITAR and the EAR. A “U.S. person” according to their definition is a U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), or protected individual such as a refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Aircraft manufacturing a plus.
  • Construction, carpentry and forklift experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Primary duties include finishing detailed panel assembly and liners.
  • Uses specifications, blueprints, mylar and work orders.
  • Deburrs and cleans insert drill holes prior to insert installation.
  • Applies adhesive to plugs/ sleeves and panel prior to plug/ sleeve installation.
  • Prepares panel assemblies for edge fill operation.
  • Mixes and applies adhesive to the undercut/edge of panels.
  • Hand routes with pneumatic hand router all detailed liners using the specified tool required.
  • Records all material and logs information on work orders and in SAP software.
  • Other essential duties may be assigned.
