Requirements

  • Must be a high-school student within the Career Pathways Institute of Grand Island Public Schools in the Industrial Technology Academy, current student at Grand Island Northwest or current student at St. Paul school.
  • Must be a current Central Community College Student.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety requirements including performing machine safety checks prior to use each day and wearing the proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Set up and operate CNC press brakes which include loading and unloading materials in and out of the machine.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and work orders to understand the required specifications for each job.
  • Select, install, and adjust appropriate tooling for each job being ran.
  • Adjust pre-programmed parameters to achieve appropriate bends and angles.
  • Perform first piece and in process inspections using various measuring tools such as protractors, calipers, tape measures and rules.
  • Monitor machine performance and report any malfunctions to your team leader or supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure the proper performance of the equipment and a safe working environment.
  • Record required information utilizing various computer programs.
