About The Position

AAI/Spalding is a major sports equipment manufacturing company located in Jefferson, Iowa owned by Spalding; a division of Fruit of the Loom, an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., & leading international basic apparel company. We currently have an opening for Fabric Support. This position performs various non-sewing functions in the Fabric building to assist in the production of finished goods. May complete other duties assigned by Supervisor. This is a full time, first shift position with excellent benefits and a pay range of $18.98 - $20.98 per hour. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be capable of writing, recording, and understanding measurements
  • Must be able to speak, read, and understand English fluently
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
  • Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions finished in written, verbal or diagram form
  • Ability to read and follow engineering drawings
  • One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination

Responsibilities

  • Cut, stencil and stuff sewn covers for mats. Perform final inspection of product, wrap finished goods, verify required information is on package and load finished goods onto trailer to be taken to Shipping area.
  • Set up and operate auto-cut machine, heat sealer and saws. Mark material to communicate to Sewers where to place handles, velcro and zippers.
  • Unload trucks, verify part number and quantity, ensure materials are put in correct location, and inform Lead Person or Supervisor if parts are incorrect or if more raw materials need to be ordered.
  • Assist with training of new employees, perform yearly inventory, and maintain a clean and safe workstation. Complete other duties as assigned by Supervisor
