About The Position

The Fabric Manager, Men’s & Women’s Denim, will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of Raw Materials to meet cost, quality and aesthetic for Calvin Klein Global with a focus on developing efficient, scalable processes to achieve operational excellence. The Manager is responsible for managing the overall process of developing and innovating new and seasonal materials that meet the designer’s aesthetic vision while balancing quality, cost and speed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in apparel manufacturing, specifically denim fabrics
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
  • Intermediate/advanced technical knowledge in the denim category
  • Proven technical knowledge of denim constructions, finishes, washes/treatment process and fabric behavior in garment production.
  • Microsoft office/PLM/3D technologies
  • Excellent organizational, communication and cross-functional project management skills
  • Proficient in raw material sourcing and production lifecycle process
  • Understanding of fabric suppliers and COO competencies
  • Advanced Denim development process and understanding

Responsibilities

  • Manage seasonal RM portfolios and strategic developments, which support brand aesthetic & allocation strategy.
  • Collaborating with raw material suppliers, Design, Merchandising and Supply Chain Partners both near and offshore where applicable.
  • Ensure raw material suppliers and vendors are clear on seasonal direction and execution of raw materials throughout the development process.
  • Source, evaluate and develop denim fabrics globally; negotiate pricing, minimums and bulk lead times.
  • Manage the digital and physical RM libraries.
  • Support data integrity within the PVH Supply environment.
  • Partner closely with cross functional partners to trouble shoot issues and escalate when and where appropriate.
  • Create strong relationships with the vendor and supplier matrix while maintaining clear knowledge of all their strengths, capabilities, specialties, and innovations.
  • Create and update Design teams on creative toolboxes.
  • Manage denim development milestones with suppliers and internal partners.
  • Liaison with creative, marketing, supply and merchandising to help identify opportunities for process optimization and best prices
  • Responsible for all relevant testing, problem solving and finding alternatives when needed (e.g tear, tensile, recovery/wear and colorfastness).
  • Work with Director to ensure a smooth global raw materials strategy.
  • Stay ahead of global textile and denim trends, attend trade shows, and drive fabric innovation and sustainability initiatives
