About The Position

Glen Raven is recruiting for an Industrial Engineer based at our Anderson, SC facility. This role supports network fabric manufacturing by ensuring accurate, up-to-date cost management inputs and standards, and by maintaining reliable job specifications for all hourly positions across the MSG network. The Industrial Engineer drives cost and productivity improvements, supports best-practice implementation, and uses a standards-based approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. The position also conducts analyses and initiatives to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency at MSG sites. In addition, the role partners with MSG Corporate resources to provide industrial engineering support for value-engineering efforts that boost performance and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Industrial Engineering (preferred) or Operations Management
  • Minimum 2 years in applicable role
  • Ability to Communicate at a High Level (Verbal, NonVerbal)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement systems using industrial engineering practices to ensure up to date, accurate job specifications are in place for every hourly position within the Glen Raven Material Solutions Group network:
  • Conduct job element studies to capture inputs for production jobs to determine work standards, expected output, and optimal assignments for manufacturing positions across the division.
  • Determine standard production factors by process and product, to include equipment speeds, efficiencies, and expected process waste
  • Develop standard format for job specifications and ensure process is in place to ensure regular updates/reviews are conducted at intervals directed by engineering leadership
  • Advance the manufacturing plant’s performance on all operational fronts and push continuous improvement forward:
  • Define operating procedure and general organization in the sector
  • Be a driving force in the definition of key performance indicators at the strategic, tactical, and manufacturing equipment level.
  • Focus heavily on equipment standards and machine output
  • Define proactive indicators in relation with manufacturing department goals and objectives
  • Analyze deviations to KPI targets and provide avenues of progress to bring back into alignment
  • Facilitation problem solving initiatives and bring methodological support to teams
  • Analyze and take into consideration industrial best practices.
  • Recommend progress actions
  • Sustain, in conjunction with management, the results of method changes
  • Facilitate, based on competency, Value Chain, SMED, Kaizen, and RCA events to drive progress
  • Lead projects as required in support of progressing manufacturing sites / areas
  • Develop and lead projects as required to progress the mission of a given department / manufacturing location
  • Conduct optimization, root cause, and correlation studies to improve performance of processes within the organization
  • Use the appropriate methodology and tools to efficiently identify and develop corrective actions to problems
  • Provide status update information to all stakeholders on a prescribed basis
  • Provide alternate solutions to mitigate unforeseen issues such that timelines can be maintained
  • Recommend progress opportunities and contribute to development of operating plans at locations throughout the Glen Raven Material Solutions Group network
  • Breakdown operating targets to the machine level in manufacturing and provide visibility to area leadership to assist organization in hitting its business plan targets in each functional area
  • Implement identified process improvement actions as negotiated with leadership, tracking both progress to implementation and business impact post completion
  • Implement Strategic tactics and systems in order to Support Management Goals
  • Oversee the completion of Capital Projects and Facilitate Quality, On Time Deliverables
  • Act, Take Action, and Onboard Initiatives Developed by Management
  • Work Closely with Operation Groups to Improve Functionality on a Global Level
  • Drive Forward Function and Communication Bridges Surrounding Global Best Practices
