About The Position

Overview Operates a wide variety of machinery such as Brake Press, Spot Welders, Punch Press, and other similar equipment to fabricate sheetmetal according to production demands & specifications. Responsibilities Operations Ownership - Takes ownership to ensure best results and responsibilities are achieved as expected Interpret and follow blueprints and use measuring tools for designed machine operation Ability to set up, operate, and maintain all machinery ensuring it is in good working order Set up machines according to the specifications of the task Monitor machines while they execute the tasks and make necessary adjustments to produce a better result Test and adjust machine speeds or actions, according to product specifications, using gauges and hand tools Report any malfunctions or defects to the team leader or supervisor immediately Meets production to attain daily rates Supports shift leader and able to provide direction and train other team members Will be required to work at various workstations, depending on production needs Quality Assurance Measure and inspect finished products to ensure they adhere to production needs which meet print specifications Continuous Improvement Orange Card Program - Actively participates in OCP and submits 1 plus cards per month Identify and eliminate process waste Safety Maintain a clean and safe work environment per 6S Program Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment Assist co-workers in being safe by correcting unsafe conditions and behaviors when seen Work Ethics Attendance - Manages personal attendance in accordance with Attendance Policy Demonstrates interest in mentoring others and improving their job skills and experience Self-motivated - works with minimal supervision, assisting others Qualifications Education & Experience High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) One to two years related manufacturing fabrication experience in sheet metal required Skills & Abilities Math - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Communication - Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills Problem Solving - Strong ability to identify issues and offer solutions Ability to read/interpret prints and measuring tools Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to meet production demands and needs Satisfactory teamwork and communication; the ability to work effectively with others and have clear/concise communication

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • One to two years related manufacturing fabrication experience in sheet metal required
  • Math - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Communication - Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Problem Solving - Strong ability to identify issues and offer solutions
  • Ability to read/interpret prints and measuring tools
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to meet production demands and needs
  • Satisfactory teamwork and communication; the ability to work effectively with others and have clear/concise communication
