The FAA Production Technical Operator 5 position at Celestica involves performing complex tasks guided by diverse procedures and technical methods. The role requires considerable judgment and initiative in resolving problems and making recommendations, with the potential for decisions to impact beyond the immediate work unit. The operator will engage in repetitive to non-repetitive assembly and testing, disassembly, analysis, repair, rework, and reassembly of aircraft components in support of the FAA Repair Station. The position is not remote and is based in Tucson, Arizona.

  • Perform repetitive to non-repetitive assembly and testing, disassembly, analysis, repair and rework, reassembly and test of aircraft components.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot and rework aircraft components in accordance with established procedures.
  • Provide recommendations on steps needed to return components to service in accordance with FAA and other regulations.
  • Perform manual assembly/disassembly, operation of automated assembly equipment, hand soldering, operation of automated test equipment, and inspection and repair of products.
  • Conduct machine and line setups, feeder repairs, and first line preventative maintenance.
  • Four to five years of relevant experience.
  • High school diploma and additional courses after high school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Specific certifications as defined by site operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of board assembly process and product process flow.
  • In-depth knowledge of product quality, soldering specifications, and SMT processing systems.
  • Ability to set up, operate, calibrate and maintain assembly and hand soldering equipment and tools.
  • Ability to recognize problems in the assembly process and address them.
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and lead the team to high quality production.
  • Knowledge of in-circuit and functional test fixturing.
  • Knowledge of computer applications such as Word, Excel, and documentation control systems.
  • More advanced manufacturing systems knowledge.
