In this role, the F5 Network Engineer will be responsible for performing research, requirements analysis, design, installation, documentation, troubleshooting, and sustainment of local- and wide-area network hardware and services. The engineer will develop system specifications, architecture designs, integration and test plans, and all relevant documentation while maintaining compliance with quality assurance standards. Ensuring that service performance indicators are met or exceeded is a critical aspect of this position. The engineer will also review mission-related change requirements, such as Change Requests (CRQs), and determine their impacts on Transport activities across the enterprise while providing technical solutions. The F5 Network Engineer will engineer and implement solutions for projects based on customer Change Requests, serving as the technical representative for assigned projects. This includes providing recommendations on newly submitted action items and coordinating issues with the appropriate organizations. The engineer will evaluate and report on new and emerging network communication technologies to enhance the capacity, performance, and reliability of the network. Additionally, they will recommend changes and/or technology upgrades to address performance, standardization, and industry best practices, while following all customer network security processes and procedures to ensure compliance with government policies. Developing and maintaining network architecture diagrams is also a key responsibility of this role.
