The Associate Director will provide security oversight to the P&W F135 Security Team of security professionals currently supporting the F135 Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul and Upgrade (MRO&U) facilities and F135 Assembly Facility. The selected candidate will be assigned to Pratt & Whitney's Government Security Compliance (GSC) team and report directly to the Director of Government Security Compliance. The Associate Director will be part of the F135 Security mission in support of the F-35 directed compliance program for the F135 propulsion system. This position is categorized as hybrid, meaning this assignment will report to Pratt & Whitney East Hartford, CT and be on-site as well as have remote opportunities.

Requirements

  • U.S. Secret or higher DoD Security clearance required, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance with Special Access Programs. This position is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining any current security clearance requirements for this program.
  • 3+ years of experience managing a team of direct-reports and ability to lead international assignees or distributed teams.
  • Advanced degree and 10+ years of Security, Government Compliance, Military or Defense experience, or government regulated environment; OR Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • 10+ years of experience working with U.S. Government agencies on the design, development and implementation of security plans, protocols and processes that protect classified information, company sensitive and proprietary data.
  • Must have the ability to confidently apply knowledge of security and program specific requirements in order to counsel and influence at all levels of the organization, government customers and other mission partners to achieve 100% security compliance.

  • Work experience and interest in the areas of compliance, security, data analytics, audits, DoD contracts, program management or international business.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures, standard work and training packages.
  • Extensive familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) Manuals and Instructions.
  • Experience operating within an international business environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to align team goals with high-level organizational objectives. , while adapting to changes and driving continuous improvement.
  • Practical knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations.
  • Understanding of government contracts and export control requirements (ITAR/EAR).
  • Knowledge of jet engine overhaul shops or military depot operations.

Responsibilities

  • Implementation and oversight of F135 security requirements.
  • Lead the team that conducts security inspections with multiple USG organizations and Foreign Governments to maintain a world class security program while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance, direction, coordination and oversight to all the requirements of the United States Government (USG) approved Technology Control Plan.
  • Work closely with the U.S. Services and foreign governments of F-35 Partner and FMS locations to create and sustain compliant security programs with the security teams located at CONUS F135 Depot locations and with the international security teams of our Product Support Providers (PSPs).
  • Apply knowledge of security, compliance and program specific requirements in order to counsel and influence at all levels of the organization.
