The Telehealth Nursing Department has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This position is not remote. The LPN will collect patient assessment data and notify the appropriate nurse of actual or potential problems and needs on an ongoing basis. The role involves recording patient information concisely, accurately, and completely, administering medications, and performing treatments and procedures for all patients as assigned. The LPN will assist with the preparation of patient materials or correspondence that RNs, ARNPs, or MDs utilize to communicate with organizations within or outside the University. Additionally, the LPN will assist in preoperative and postoperative health teaching for patients and families, share responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans, and participate in team conferences, sharing knowledge, information, and ideas with team members. As competence increases, the LPN will perform more complex nursing activities and communicate frequently with the team leader regarding patients’ physical and mental conditions. Adherence to University and unit-level policies and procedures is essential, as well as safeguarding University assets. This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.
