About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a social services field preferred or two or more years of related experience in the employment field working with minorities or individuals with disabilities.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is required; fluency in Cantonese and other Asian languages is preferred.
  • Strong public speaking skills and the ability to develop written promotional materials.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals, including employers and program participants.
  • Experience with case management and understanding of issues related to individuals with multiple barriers to employment.
  • Proficient computer skills to accomplish job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provide job development services for participants with disabilities who speak English as a second language.
  • Assist individuals in transitioning into the workforce through career planning and coaching.
  • Develop partnerships with local employers and community businesses to secure job placements for participants.
  • Attend job fairs and resource fairs to promote the program and connect with potential employers.
  • Conduct presentations to individuals and groups in English and Mandarin.
  • Maintain accurate records and necessary paperwork related to job placements and participant progress.
  • Collaborate with Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors and program staff to coordinate participant activities and employment plans.
  • Identify and develop training programs that support employment opportunities for participants.
  • Promote the organization and its services within the community.
