About The Position

The Utility Worker is responsible for the cleanliness of kitchen floors, all dishes, pots and pans, china, and glassware. This role includes the removal of trash and dirty linen, ensuring the dishwashing area is clean and neat, and maintaining an adequate supply of cleaning materials for the shift. The position requires adherence to essential functions as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and employees may be assigned additional duties as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to break down dishwashing machine and clean.
• Understanding of proper chemical usage and safety.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
• Capability to stand for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Keep the dish pit equipment, walls, shelves, and floors clean at all times.
• Return clean pots, pans, etc., to their proper place.
• Operate the dishwasher, keeping water changed and disposal emptied to assure proper cleaning of dishes.
• Keep the loading dock clean and organized.
• Crush all boxes and load them in the recycle bin.
• Keep the area around the recycle bin and dumpster clean and organized.
• Empty trash during and at the end of each shift, disinfecting trash cans weekly.
• Sweep and mop the entire kitchen at the end of each shift.
• Assist Chefs and Cooks in all areas of the kitchen including cleaning, prepping, and cooking.
