Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on our F-35 program. This leadership opportunity is located onsite in Redondo Beach, California. This senior manager is responsible of overall F-35 Risks, Issues, and Opportunity (RIO) Management process implementation, execution, and training. This manager will integrate all Risks, Issues, and Opportunities cross three operating units (Production, Development and Sustainment), International Programs, and Functions on F-35 program. RIO manager will adjudicate potential conflicts handling ownerships of risk handling, guide the Program RIO Process throughout the entire life cycle from identification, implementation, to realization or retirement. The RIO Manager will interface with multiple disciplines including internal Program Management, IPT Leaders, functional leaders, and Chief Engineering Office. Candidate will be responsible for all Risk, Issue and Opportunity (RIO) Management Processes and work all aspects of RIO management at the Program Level. Owns overall quality and validity of all program vetted Risks/Issues/Opportunities, Performs independent assessment all aspects of technical, cost, and schedule impacts of risks, issues, and opportunities, Works collaboratively with risk owners and associated CAMs to meet risk mitigation and opportunity development commitments, Provides horizontal and vertical integration of the RIO SOW for each of the operating units and IPTs Executes a proactive risk identification process and to understand and evaluate new affordability opportunities and developments Ensure adherence/compliance of program RIO process against corporate and sector procedures Verify and support all aspects of corporate, sector and DCMA audits on the risk, issues, and opportunities process Maintains and responsible of the Risks, Issues, and Opportunity management plan, Troubleshoot and administrative management of the program-selected RIO tool, Develop and deliver F-35 Risks, Issues, and Opportunity training as required Act as primary contact for all program RIO activities, including leadership reviews and customer reviews Lead program wide monthly review boards for Risks, Issues and Opportunity Be the thought leader and provide guidance / advises for all RIO related activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 8 years of related experience.
  • Experience in project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, or business management.
  • Experience with risk, issue, and opportunity development.
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles.
  • At least 5 years of formal leadership experience in a People Leadership role.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and influence project team relationships.
  • Familiarity with aircraft production, supply chain, engineering, software development, and product support.
  • Experience with the F-35 Program.
  • Familiarity with Program Integration and Risk Management.
  • Proficient in AS Sector Tracking Risk, Issues, and Opportunity (TRIO) Tool.
