About The Position

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an Aircraft Structures Mechanic to assist our F-22 team at Langley Air Force Base (AFB), Virginia. In this role you will be responsible for performing maintenance repair and upgrades on F-22 systems and structures. You will utilize aircraft technical orders, publications, blueprints, and drawings to perform a variety of maintenance actions on aircraft systems and sub systems including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and engines.

Requirements

• 1+ years aircraft maintenance experience/aircraft structural repair.
• Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts.
• Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
• Thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and shears.
• Experience in precision drilling, cutting, and fabricating aircraft structural components.
• Willingness to work variable shifts.
• Understanding and knowledge of how to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.

Nice To Haves

• Experience repairing and servicing military fighter aircraft F-15, F-16, F-18, A-10, F-22, F-35.
• 1+ year(s) 5th generation aircraft maintenance experience.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting aircraft avionics systems.
• Experience drilling, cutting, and fabricating aircraft structural components.
• Experience with metal tubing and fittings to include swaging applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty.
• Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting user documentation such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals.
• Fabricates and modifies aerospace products according to specifications.
• Working knowledge of technical publications.
• Proper use and understanding of PPE to include eyes, ears, foot, and head.
