About The Position

Boeing Global Services is searching for an F-18 Ejection Seat Technician willing to work night or day shift at Naval Air Station (NAS) Joint Reserve Base (JRB) New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. The selected candidate will perform inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational support of aircraft egress systems and associated components in a professional maintenance environment.

Requirements

  • Completion of military Egress/AME “A” School or military equivalent formal training is mandatory
  • Minimum 5 years aviation maintenance experience in egress, survival equipment, and/ or related aircraft systems
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance procedures
  • Ability to safely handle explosive devices and hazardous components
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform maintenance tasks in confined spaces or elevated positions
  • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Responsibilities

  • Technician maintains the following: Aircraft seats and canopy ejection systems, Gaseous O2, fire extinguishing, air conditioning, cockpit heat, pressurization and ventilation
  • Remove and install Oxygen system valves, gauges, converters and regulators.
  • Remove, install, inspect and rig ejection seats, Cartridge Actuation Devices (CADS), shoulder harnesses and lap belts.
  • Perform Daily, pre and post flight and periodic aircraft inspections.
  • Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
  • Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
  • Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
  • Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
  • Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
  • Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
  • Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
