About The Position

BGS is seeking an F-15C/EX Simulator Technician to support Training Services at NAS JRB New Orleans, Louisiana. This candidate will work directly with F-15C/EX Aircrew to ensure flight training devices are operational and available to meet the warfighter training needs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • Experience in IT/Electronics/Avionics
  • CompTIA Security+ certified (or similar certification meeting DoD Directive 8570.01 Certification Requirements), and/or the ability to obtain post-hire
  • Must be willing to work one to two weekend days per month, as required by the Air National Guard
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds to a height of five feet

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or equivalent flight simulator, electrical and/or IT experience
  • CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ certification
  • Active Tier 5 Clearance
  • Experience in maintaining flight simulation systems, including Low-Cost Immersive Display Systems (LCIDs), Windows and Linux Operating Systems

Responsibilities

  • Supports the operation and maintenance of stand-alone and networked squadron-based F-15C/EX training devices, (FMT/WTT)
  • Assists with operations, repairs, tests, installs, configurations, upgrades, and assists in the modification of simulators and training components, devices, hardware, and software
  • Performs general inspections for pre- and post-operations
  • Assists instructors/aircrews during scheduled training missions
  • Responsible for building and loading mission planning data for devices in cooperation with Weapons Officer, the Distributed Training Operations Center (DTOC), and other F-15C/EX Simulator Operators
  • Establishes DTOC connections and coordinates on-site equipment maintenance, when required
  • Troubleshoots to isolate electrical and/or mechanical faults
  • Responsible for training device maintenance and liaisons with CSSP for software updates and major maintenance
  • Acts as liaison with St. Louis Program Office for device security accreditation and maintenance paperwork
  • Performs logistical, administrative, and other collateral duties as necessary to maintain the training devices
  • Performs administrative information technology security duties and works with local ISSM to maintain systems accreditation
  • Establish weekly status, monthly availability, and utilization reports
  • Works under minimal supervision
