About The Position
MI Metals, Inc. is seeking an experienced Extrusion Supervisor to oversee the extrusion process at our Smyrna, Tennessee plant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a group of press operators and ensuring that safety, quality, and production goals are consistently met. Your role will involve optimizing the extrusion press setup and operation, monitoring critical parameters such as temperature, speed, and pressure during production, and ensuring that the correct alloys are utilized for the appropriate processes. In this position, you will enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring that all employees adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. You will also be tasked with monitoring product quality standards through visual inspections and quality checks, as well as maintaining production records and documentation in compliance with company standards. Your leadership will be crucial in training new employees and providing ongoing development opportunities for existing team members. You will collaborate closely with maintenance technicians to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and operational issues are addressed promptly. Additionally, you will be expected to identify areas for process improvement and implement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing costs. Effective communication with employees, other departments, and management will be essential to foster a collaborative work environment and address any concerns that arise.
