About The Position

The Extrusion Saw Operator is responsible for cutting, storing, and distributing material, tools, equipment, and products. This position involves utilizing machinery for the transfer and cutting of material, reading production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. The operator will fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials or other stock items, assemble customer orders from stock, and mark materials with identifying information. Additionally, the operator will retrieve materials from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas, sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences, and safely execute loading and unloading in restricted spaces. The role requires applying mathematical concepts, maintaining regular attendance, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D, or equivalent.
  • 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination.
  • Fork-lift experience (preferred), or ability to become certified in fork-lift operation.
  • Familiarity with use of a computer and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing machinery for the transfer and cutting of material.
  • Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
  • Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials or other stock items.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to packing station.
  • Mark materials with identifying information.
  • Retrieve material and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Safely execute loading and unloading in restricted spaces.
  • Apply mathematical concepts in order to read a tape measure and calipers, comprehend decimals and fractions.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
