The Extrusion Operator is responsible for extruding life-saving medical tubing, including set-up and tear down of the entire extruder line, all applicable downstream equipment including but not limited to vacuum tanks, water tanks, pullers, cutters, conveyors, driers, coilers, and measuring equipment. Full training is available for this position. Training for this position will take place during first shift and then you will transition to second shift. Produces Medical grade extrusions of various profiles simple to complex. Reads and understands product drawings to determine product specifications and tooling needed for extruded tubing. Sets up extruder and relevant tooling. Prepares all raw compounds needed to start any extrusion run/batch. Operates and maintains all extrusion tooling, dies, mandrels, associated equipment. Reviews dimensions and measurements on drawings or routers before starting/setting up for the extrusion process. Uses basic measuring equipment to confirm product specifications, including but not limited to-micrometers, dial indicators, dial calipers, and rulers. Set-up/tear down and clean all extrusion equipment after daily run. Complete all documentation for work orders/routers as required per ISO procedures. Enters basic run information into computer system. Check all tooling/machines for damage or wear.
