About The Position

Join Amcor as an Extrusion Operator where you will lead all Extrusion lines (Blown Film or Coater lines) including changeovers, machine start-up, running and shutdown. This role supports operations in becoming World Class in all aspects of the business, beginning with Safety. The operator will run all jobs in accordance with customer and manufacturing specifications, and standard operating procedures. Key tasks include organizing, recording, and storing resin, adjusting machine specifications, pressures, and equipment for each job, and ensuring accurate paperwork. The Extrusion Operator will also work with and direct extrusion assistants and other teammates to minimize change-over and downtime, and train assistants to be efficient in their duties, understanding their role in product safety. Compliance with 5S and WCM initiatives is also required.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50-60 lbs
  • Willing and able to stand and walk for a 12 hour shift
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting
  • Frequent use of wrist and hands
  • Frequent stepping up and down from platforms

Responsibilities

  • Support operations in becoming World Class in all aspects of the business, beginning with Safety.
  • Run all jobs in accordance with customer specification, manufacturing specification, and standard operating procedures.
  • Organize, record, and ensure proper storage of resin.
  • Adjust machine specifications, pressures, and equipment for each job.
  • Ensure all appropriate paperwork is filled out accurately and completely.
  • Work with and direct the extrusion assistant and other team mates to minimize job change-over and down time.
  • Train and direct the extrusion assistant to become efficient at all the required assistant duties defined in each level of the assistant training matrix on time.
  • Know and understand the role in product safety.
  • Comply with all 5S and WCM initiatives (Cross Training, moving to the work).
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
