Extrusion Operator
About The Position
Understand and follow safe work practices Bring materials to the production line by using a sit-down forklift Check resin levels and verify silo connections at the start of shift against the work order to ensure correct resin usage Assist with changeovers, start-ups, and shut-downs Web the extrusion line and identify various resins and additives, and their impact on production Change the resin name and percentage on the blenders for mono line and co-ex Bring up extrusion lines without assistance Adjust air rings to stabilize bubbles and gauge, and adjust the temperature profile for different resin formulas Troubleshoot the corona treaters and adjust accordingly Identify the quality of film appearance (e.g., die lines, melt fracture) Troubleshoot chiller system (including startup after power failure) and adjust chill roll temperatures
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, or 3 years of work experience
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to do basic math and read a tape measure
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods on hard surfaces
- Ability to climb up to 60 feet using ladder stairs
- Ability to perform in an environment that is not climate-controlled
