A Day in the Life In this role, you will support Medtronic’s Advanced Manufacturing operations by setting up and operating extrusion equipment used to produce miniature, precision tubing for our Interventional Vascular & Structural Heart therapies. You will collaborate with engineering teams, maintain high-quality standards, and contribute to a safe and inclusive production environment.

Requirements

  • 2 years of related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in extrusion, plastics processing, or manufacturing operations.
  • Full knowledge of production-related systems and procedures .
  • Ability to follow standardized procedures with moderate supervision and sound judgment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, safety, and documentation.
  • Experience in medical device or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with tooling development, resin characteristics, or automated process control systems.
  • Experience executing equipment qualifications or process documentation.
  • Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate plastic extrusion equipment to manufacture precision tubing to established quality standards.
  • Assist engineering teams in the development of extrusion tooling, equipment, and materials.
  • Apply knowledge of screw and tool design, resin characteristics, temperature control, automated feedback loops, and downstream equipment (e.g., burst testers, slickers).
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance on extrusion equipment.
  • Ensure raw materials are dried and prepared to specifications.
  • Mix, blend, or color raw materials as needed.
  • Write and execute equipment qualifications on new or modified tooling or equipment to verify performance against defined parameters.
  • Follow established processes and identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and quality.
  • Support and guide entry-level employees as needed.
