About The Position

It’s a great time to join Velcro Companies! The position is for the second shift in Manchester, United States of America, with work hours from 2:45 PM to 10:45 PM. The job objective is to operate and be certified on a variety of tasks, including operating manufacturing equipment and following established Standard Operating Procedures. The role requires maintaining Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost standards while performing varying assignments daily.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and/or GED required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, follow, and recommend improvements to working instructions and procedures.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Promotes a culture of safety within the organization by leading by example and encouraging others to prioritize safety.
  • Reports any safety incidents or near-misses to the appropriate personnel and contributes to the investigation process.
  • Participates in safety-related programs and initiatives, including involvement in the safety committee, Risk Assessments, Exposure Hunts, department inspections, and change management activities.
  • Obtains certification in a minimum of HTH Operator level 1 within the specified time frame.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized department.
  • Performs basic troubleshooting of extrusion machinery and plastics processes.
  • Complies with all standard operating procedures, control plans, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Maintains accuracy in production reporting, downtime, sampling, and data entry.
  • Reads and interprets the Discrete Job Routing Sheet and Repetitive(s).
  • Completes necessary computer transactions or paperwork.
  • Maintains established production standards and is accountable for personal goals and departmental metrics.
  • Successfully completes training and operates PITs.
  • Complies with Quality Standard ISO/TS 16949, Environmental Standard ISO 14001, and BRC/IOP.
  • Performs 6s audits, Layered audits, and participates in corrective actions captured during audits.
  • Ensures that the plastics packaging process working environment is maintained in a clean and hygienically appropriate manner.
  • Works overtime as required or requested, including extended shifts and weekends.
  • Works well with others in a team environment.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel of any incidents or situations that would trigger implementation of the contingency plan.
  • May perform emergency response duties as required by the department supervisor or manager.
  • Moves chemicals and/or wastes within the facility and maintains chemical storage areas in a clean, orderly manner.
  • Follows applicable Environmental Health and Safety department procedures.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.
