About The Position

FilterEasy, LLC is a leading manufacturer and direct-to-consumer distributor of air and water filter products. The subscription-based service eliminates the stress of remembering when to change filters in the home to maintain healthy air and drinking water. Job Summary: FilterEasy is setting up the first plastics extrusion line in the facility and is looking for a collaborative team member to help set up the new machinery and establish production methods and practices for the area. They will function as the production cell leader and primary machine operator. Extrusion is a new production area for FilterEasy and this team member will help shape this work area. The Extrusion Machine Operator is the designated owner of the extrusion and stamping line. This role is accountable for the line’s setup, safe operation, light maintenance, process control, and output quality. The operator serves as the key team member for daily production activities and is expected to operate the cell to hit production goals, meet quality standards, maintain the machinery in good working order, and train secondary operators.

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years operating plastics extrusion, injection molding, or comparable manufacturing equipment
  • Prior experience as a lead operator on a production line strongly preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Standing/walking for long durations, moderate lifting, and bending required

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training in industrial technology, mechanical systems, or a related field preferred
  • OSHA or relevant safety certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Assign work based on the production schedule
  • Complete all inventory transactions daily
  • Provide feedback on work performance
  • Communicate clear instructions
  • Monitor production quality and quantity
  • Report daily results to the supervisor
  • Identify and troubleshoot simple production equipment issues
  • Assist with the installation and initial ramp-up of the extrusion and stamping line
  • Configure and set up extrusion and stamping line equipment to meet production requirements
  • Monitor line performance and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality and throughput rates
  • Conduct in-process inspections and maintain conformance to product specifications and downstream production processes
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs
  • Escalate major maintenance issues to engineering/maintenance teams
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and production logs
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to make and implement improvements to the machinery
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and training documentation
  • Provide guidance and training to supporting operators/technicians
  • Follow safety standards, including lockout/tagout, PPE use, and machine guarding
  • Maintain clean and organized work environment in line with 5S principles
  • Adhere to company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
