About The Position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.   1. Trains department personnel in the set-up and operation of extrusion equipment and support equipment.   2. Ensures material being produced meets specifications.   3. Ensures proper recording of reports, data, and testing procedures.   4. Communicates/coordinates shift activity with other shifts and departments.   5. Makes suggestions to improve process or procedures within department.   6. Diagnoses operational/quality problems and directs correctional activities.   7. Performs all machine operation functions within department.   8. Follows and participates in plant safe housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment.   9. Remains compliant with SQF / HACCP requirements as per this location’s written “Food Safety & Quality Policy”   10. Complete cycle counts for scrap/prime rolls stock and Raw Materials, when necessary.   11. Monitor all fluff silos and report out to production with issues, lock out all silos ports when full.

Requirements

  • 3 years of related training and/or experience
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Successful completion of all previous level Extrusion Skills Assessments
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to print simple sentences and legibly complete reports and time cards.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
  • Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and manufacturing terminology.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and the general public.
  • The employee has the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Also, has the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • OSHA approved Forklift Certification
  • CPR and first aid Certified
