About The Position

The Extrusion Engineering Technician at Medtronic plays a vital role in inspecting and recording one-time builds for R&D jobs within a cleanroom environment. Requirements

  • Requires minimum of 4 years of relevant experience (microscope experience preferred)
  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent (United States)
  • Microscope proficiency
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using microscope inspection software such as MicroVue
  • Prior extrusion operator or technician experience
  • Prior cleanroom experience

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support to engineers to achieve improvements in cycle-time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety and compliance of production and operations processes and products.
  • Monitors instruments and equipment and collects operating data, including calibration, inspection, testing and repair activities, to assist in making on-line adjustments to instruments, equipment, or products.
  • Analyzes and resolves malfunctions and deviations of instruments and control systems to identify and resolve problems.
  • Conducts, analyses and prepares reports using metrics from salvage tracking, trending, reporting and root-cause analyses.
  • Maintains process designs to optimize process, equipment and facility use while conforming to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Performs analyses, inspection, and tests of raw materials, packaging materials, quantitative assays on samples, and/or finished products from manufacturing, to ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements, and tolerance specifications for the chemical or physical property.
  • Performs a variety of qualitative tests or qualitative assays on samples, and to aid in maintenance and certification of test instruments and apparatus to ensure compliance.
  • Performs required inspections, checks, analysis and documentation of studies.
  • Prepares and monitors quality statistics and reports.
  • Reviews production records for conformance to procedures.
  • Conducts non-conformance tests of manufactured, packaged or tested product.
