JOB DETAILS Base Pay $20.00 to $23.00 per hour. 2nd Shift: 3pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under limited supervision, the Extruder Operator will be expected to operate extrusion machines in a work cell to produce required parts in accordance with customer requirements and the production schedule. Clearly understands and has demonstrated strong capability in setting up, starting, running, and tearing down any profile tooling in a safe and productive manner. Troubleshoot extrusion issues within a work cell. Operates extrusion machines in a work cell to produce required parts as determined by customer requirements and the production schedule Analyze production data and make necessary adjustments to machine operations within the work cell. Complete necessary documentation; process checks, quality checks, production reporting, etc. Evaluate part conformance against documented engineering requirements. Set up and start up any profile for any machine model in a work cell Troubleshot advanced problems against a defined process and escalates problems to appropriate support roles: ie, Technicians and Engineering Train new Extruder Operators Identify and communicate appropriately when electrical/mechanical/technical support is needed Participate and sustain 5S activities Work safely and follow safety and process policies. Make sure co-workers are working safely and following safety policies Participate in & lead kaizen events and sustain improvements made from those events Lead work cell when needed Perform basic maintenance tasks as necessary Attend and participate in appropriate training and development programs. Perform other duties across the plant as needed, directed by supervision or management

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Basic computer skills – Windows & keyboarding
  • Equipment operation experience
  • Be able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Developing leadership skills
  • Master all skills and knowledge while working as an Extruder Operator
  • Developing strong process and equipment troubleshooting capabilities
  • Ability to articulate problems and solutions verbally
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and process procedures
  • Ability and skills to collaborate effectively in a team environment

Responsibilities
