Zip-Pak, Ottawa, we need extruder machine operators to operate plastic extrusion lines. 12-hour shift (7pm-7am), 2-2-3 day schedule with alternating weekends off. H.S. diploma or GED required; previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required.   • Run and maintain a quality product.
  • Make necessary adjustments and judgments to consistently produce product within quality specifications.
  • Utilize judgment in acceptable variance from specifications.
  • Ensure proper equipment set-up.
  • Perform and record quality checks.
  • Communicate troubleshooting efforts with team members, supervision, maintenance.
  • Assure proper quantities are run (no significant over/under runs).
  • Perform line changeovers.
  • Perform line cleaning.
  • Perform some preventative maintenance as required.
  • Properly box product.
  • Ensure product is identified correctly and legibly.
  • Utilize correct pallet configuration.
  • Assure pallet is secure and identified correctly and legibly.
  • Understand and observe all safety precautions, rules and regulations.
  • Keep the area around line clean.
  • Report all safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Complete all required paperwork properly and legibly.
  • Assist other operators with spool handling.
  • Assist other operators with changeovers.
  • Assist other operators with line cleaning.
  • Participate on task forces and committees as requested.
  • Extrusion experience desirable.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Stable work history.
  • Demonstrates willingness to accept or seek new assignments.
  • Mechanical aptitude/good troubleshooting skills.
