About The Position
While reporting to the Supervisor, as the Extruder Helper, you will be responsible for collaborating and contributing to the production environment within our manufacturing operations. Safety, quality, productivity, and a strong work ethic are important to the Highland Packaging culture.
Requirements
- Good mechanical aptitude with experience and ability to use standard hand tools.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English, understanding equipment manuals and diagrams.
- Visually read various safety postings, bulletin boards, operating instructions, and computer monitors/screens.
- Must be able to adhere to strict PPE requirements, including wearing face shields, earmuffs, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
- Ability to work a 12-hour shift, standing and walking for extended periods.
- Climbing, lifting, and carrying products weighing up to 50 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- A High School diploma or GED is preferred.
- Forklift and clamp truck driving experience. Certification will be onsite.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for helping operators ensure the smooth, uninterrupted operation of the extruder
- Responsible for light maintenance and preventative maintenance (including daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning details)
