About The Position

The Hydrocarbon Extraction Lead responsible for overseeing and optimizing hydrocarbon extraction processes, managing extraction technicians, and ensuring all operations meet safety, quality, and compliance standards. The Extraction Lead will play a key role in maintaining equipment, training staff, and supporting the production of high-quality cannabis extracts. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in hydrocarbon extraction and a strong ability to lead and mentor a technical team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cannabis extraction, preferably with hydrocarbon extraction techniques.
  • Proven experience supervising or mentoring lab or extraction technicians.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal regulations related to cannabis production.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles preferred.
  • Experience with other cannabis extraction techniques, such as solventless extraction.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Metrc.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain/maintain all state-required cannabis badging, which includes a pre-employment background check.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license or state ID card.
  • Must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking for long durations.
  • Must have the ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Allergen warnings - Potential exposure to dust, pollen, and plant pathogens.
  • May require daily use of provided PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and optimize hydrocarbon extraction processes to maximize product yield and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to cannabis extraction and production.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot extraction equipment, ensuring proper calibration, cleanliness, and preventative maintenance.
  • Conduct quality control tests on cannabis extracts to ensure consistency and potency.
  • Maintain detailed records of all extraction activities, including process parameters, test results, and inventory management.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with lab management and other departments to coordinate production schedules and meet operational goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in cannabis extraction techniques.
