Requirements

  • Five years of related administrative or operational experience managing projects and conducting complex research analysis
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
  • Must currently possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona Driver's License at the time of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a closely related field
  • Three years of experience in planning or research capacity in a government agency
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and managing projects
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system; experience with the development of legislation and policy
  • Strong community connections with local business leaders and the city government
  • Excellent writing skills

Responsibilities

  • Act as an advisor to the County Attorney and Executive Leadership on policy and legislative initiatives
  • Develop and execute a community outreach plan that will inform and educate businesses, legislative, and local government about the work of the Maricopa County Attorney's Office
  • Provides consultation services to senior management in establishing overall goals, strategies, and priorities
  • Act as a liaison and representative for the office to outside governmental entities and coordinate opportunities for the County Attorney to meet and present to these groups
  • Oversee creation and management of the County Attorney's Business Advisory Board
  • Prepare extensive and complex analysis reports related to policy and legislative issues
  • Perform comprehensive research and analysis on complex departmental issues related to internal and external public policy
  • Evaluate progress to ensure that all project goals and times are achieved and develop corrective action as necessary
  • Collaborate with external agencies
  • Assist other planning and research staff with department planning, research, and policy analysis activities
  • Provide support in administering the department's strategic plan
