About The Position

Position Summary The Housekeeping department will maintain the cleanliness of all external space including the facilities external perimeter on a daily basis. Personnel, if necessary, may be trained to operate equipment used in the maintenance of convention facilities such as forklifts, compactor, and other maintenance equipment. There are varying hours and shifts available based on event related activity. This role pays an hourly rate of $15.00 Benefits for Part-Time roles: 401(k) Savings Plan and 401(k) matching This position will remain open until March 13, 2026.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in maintenance or landscaping is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to operate pressure washing equipment and other maintenance tools safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual tasks and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate varying event needs.

Responsibilities

  • Entrances Maintenance: Regularly maintain the exterior entrances of the convention center, including window/glass washing/cleaning, to ensure they are clean and presentable. This includes sweeping, cleaning, and removing any debris.
  • Debris Removal: Proactively pick up litter, palm fronds, and other debris from all exterior areas, ensuring a tidy appearance in entrances, roadways, driveways, flat lots, dock areas, campus exterior walls, and landscape areas.
  • Pressure Washing: Utilize pressure washing equipment to clean walkways, outdoor seating areas, and other exterior surfaces as needed.
  • Outdoor Event Area Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the outdoor event areas, ensuring they are clean and well-organized for events and visitors.
  • General Upkeep: Conduct routine inspections of the exterior facilities, reporting any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance staff and event coordinators to ensure all outdoor areas are ready for events and functions.
  • Training: Participate in training for the proper use of maintenance carts, lifts, and other equipment.
  • Ability to climb ladders as needed for maintenance tasks.
