About The Position

St. Veronica, a Catholic school in Chantilly, VA, is seeking a dedicated and organized Part-Time Extended Day Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the before and after school programs, ensuring a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students. This role includes planning and coordinating activities, supervising staff, maintaining proper paperwork, and upholding the values and teachings of the Catholic faith while adhering to the standards of childcare and education as outlined by diocesan guidelines.

Requirements

  • A passionate commitment to Catholic education and values.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with staff, students, and parents.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and adapt to changing situations.
  • Must be 18 years or older and able to pass background checks and complete VIRTUS training.
  • CPR, First Aid, and MAT Certification (must be completed before the start of employment).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the after-school program, ensuring a structured, safe, and nurturing environment for all students.
  • Plan and implement a variety of engaging and educational activities that promote social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Monitor and support students during after-school activities, addressing any behavioral or safety concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, staff, and school administration regarding program details, student progress, and any concerns.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the after-school program reflect and adhere to the values and teachings of the Catholic faith.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, activities, and any incidents, and prepare reports as required.
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork for students and employees is properly maintained and up-to-date, including attendance records, health and safety documentation, and staff credentials.
  • Assist in managing the program budget, including purchasing supplies and materials necessary for activities.
