Job Summary The Expressive/Play Therapy Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and oversight of all administrative, clinical, and service functions of assigned clinical staff at all locations. Additional responsibilities include fostering relationships with community resources, supervising interns in coordination with other supervisors, and evaluating the performance of clinical staff.

Requirements

  • Current and active LCSW or LCPC licensure for independent clinical practice in the State of Illinois in mental health or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive and successful clinical supervision experience preferable in an outpatient mental health setting
  • Working knowledge of best practices in clinical counseling in the field of mental health
  • Demonstrate competence in interdisciplinary and inter-agency collaboration
  • Demonstrated administrative, supervisory, and organizational skills
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to think critically and analytically and to problem solve in both short and long term contexts

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed for art therapy (ATR), dance movement therapy(DMT) and or play therapy(RPT) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence and strength-based clinical supervision for at least 9 clinical staff and interns
  • Evaluate the performance of assigned staff while assuring compliance with productivity requirements, assessments, and documentation
  • Maintain 35% direct service productivity and caseload of clients to support productivity goal after 3 months onboarding period, as designated for the role
  • Be available to handle crisis requests for clinical and front office staff
  • Participate cooperatively and collaboratively in mandatory meetings, performance improvement activities, committee work, foster relationships with community resources, and when requested, attend mandatory in-services
  • Proficiency with confidentiality, HIPAA, client rights, safety, and infection control, incident and sentinel event reporting and personnel policies
  • Monitor and approve clinical staff workweek and vacation schedules such that the needs of the Center are covered
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned by Director including quarterly chart audits
  • Help with Nuestro Programing, such as scheduling, registration, organization and subbing when needed
  • Maintaining art/playrooms and participates in maintaining inventory of supplies in the department.
  • Submitting supply request to Director in timely manner
  • Be available to travel to multiple locations in Cook and Lake County when needed
  • Help run the expressive therapy and child adolescent group
  • Help assist director in developing expressive therapy programs that are appropriate for patients, based on their goals, needs, and preferred artistic expressions.
  • Supervision of interns if needed
  • Develops, leads, and continues to support staff therapeutic support groups and or community art projects.
  • Attend community events and or Josselyn functions when needed
  • Assist in onboarding staff and interns.
  • Provide training on SmartCare functionality and serve as a resource for troubleshooting.
  • Participate in community-related services as appropriate.
  • Represent the agency with integrity and professionalism.
  • Adhere to the ethical statement of the agency.
  • Manage the schedule, payroll, performance, and employee development goals of team.
